I have been a Harmony volunteer since 2003. My first event volunteering with Harmony was the first show we ever did, the very first Northwest String Summit. I came in as a helper in the booth and quickly found my niche in helping folks thru hard times at festivals. Volunteering in my community has always been a big part of my life and I have found that Harmony Event Medicine is a great place for me to focus much of my volunteer life.

I have been very involved in HEM since I joined this incredible team, and I have been the board president for over 15 years. I am the crew supervisor at all Harmony events, and I organize the supplies and infrastructure, as well as coordinating staffing and scheduling for several of our

annual festivals. I negotiate contracts with new and existing event producers and I coordinate on site logistics during events we offer medical and crisis support to.

Volunteering with HEM has been a huge

part of my life and it has been a great way to give to my community, while seeing hundreds of live musical performances and all the incredibly creative art and culture that comes along with festival life. I

can’t say enough about how rewarding this adventure has been. Working with so many caring and compassionate people over these 23 years has been a highlight of my life and I plan to continue this as

long as I am able.

Teghan joined HEM in 2010, volunteering for shows at Cuthbert and  McDonald theater in Eugene, and soon found a love for working with  medical at festivals. She has been working on administrative tasks and  volunteer scheduling for HEM, since 2014 and joined thr Board of  Directors in 2023.

In  2001 Teghan started a lifelong career in veterinary medicine,  eventually passing  national boards and holding certificate/license in  Oregon and Washington. Majority of this career is advanced nursing  critical care and emergency medicine.

Most mammal  systems, medicine and procedures are extremely similar which allowed her  to comfortably care for humans with CPR/BLS certification  .

Volunteering  in the med tent is extremely rewarding to me. I love to say YES to  anyone who needs help, gain a friendship and help a patron leave the med  tent with joy and a magical festival twinkle in their eye. I love  positive heckling "you look so great today!".

Teghan  lives in Portland with her husband Blaine, 4 kids  Homer, Hollis, Harken & Valcien, one dog and 5 cats. She also volunteers with  animal rescues to save orphaned kittens and various other creatures,  which her kids are eager to help with too.

As volunteer co-ordinator, I work on volunteer logistics, communication and writing staff schedules for festivals.

Nathan Greene and Teghan Kisler go way back! They are siblings.

If you have a question about festival scheduling please reach out to me through the Contact form.

I am a semi-retired MD of 30 years and really enjoy my volunteer  work with HEM.  It keeps my medical skills sharp and provides great  satisfaction giving free care to guests and staff at festivals without  the hassle of a full medical practice.  My specialty is Internal  Medicine (adult, non-surgical care of heart disease, diabetes, etc. as  well as diagnosis of new illnesses) and also have 25 years of Emergrncy  Department experience working at the ED at a Portland area ski resort.   Before going into medicine, I obtained a PhD in molecular biology at  the U of O, but decided that spending my life in the lab was not for me.   My love is interactions and relationships with others, and giving  health care to persons one-on-one is where I have found the greatest  satisfaction.

Of note, I am a native of Cuba,  and my family emigrated to the US shortly after the revolution.  I feel  incredibly lucky and blessed to have come to this country, where I am  now a proud citizen of this democracy.  It is responsibility and honor  that I do not take lightly.

My family moved overseas and back and forth across America  for many years. I worked as an EMT in Virginia and finally finished  nursing school in 2019 after moving to PDX. I've worked in the Emergency  Department since 2020. I started volunteering with HEM in 2023 and have  sat on the board since 2024. As an ED RN, I really appreciate my time  with HEM at festivals, offering care to people while they dance, frolic,  sing, and connect. It soothes the chaos of my day to day relationship  with healthcare  and restores my faith in humanity.
